The Objective

Our customer, Sperrin Facades, were appointed to the project at Chippenham in Bath as main contractor. The project consisted of the development of two retail units. These units required a number of various architectural aluminium products on the build.

Our overall objective was to assist with the design and manufacture various bespoke products for the building envelope. These included cladding, capping, fascias and soffits.

The Process

The process began with an onsite inspection to take the measurements for the required products. Initially the project required various bespoke aluminium products including AluSwift Fascia, Soffit, Capping & Rainscreen Cladding but as the project grew so did the requirements for bespoke products.

The Technical team was also tasked to manufacture a bespoke bracket and rail system. The bracket and rail system was designed to be fixed to the steel work that our AluSwift fascia, soffit and capping were fixed too, we also supplied a façade panel system on the serving hatch area and numerous other flashings throughout the build.

The End Result

The result of the project is a sleek finish that was designed, manufactured and fabricated with over ten different bespoke products for the build. The products achieved an attractive, high quality and durable finish that will require minimal maintenance.

This project was completed at a time of high volatility in material prices. Kytun worked with the contractor to design more economical alternatives to the original design where possible.

This allowed the contractor to keep cost increases to a minimum for the client.
